SAP มีข้อมูลที่เก็บอยู่ในฐานข้อมูลและใช้งานร่วมกันหลายๆ โมดูลเรียกว่า Master Data เช่นข้อมูล vendor , ข้อมูล materials ,ข้อมูล accounts
ยกตัวอย่าง Customer ก็เป็น master data ที่ใช้สำหรับการร้องขอจากลูกค้า , การจัดส่ง (deliveries) ,ใบกำกำสินค้า (invoices) หรือการจ่ายของลูกค้า payments ซึ่ง master data ก็ต้องมีการ กำหนด (assign)เข้าักับ organizational units
master data ก็ยังใช้ข้าม component เช่น
customer masterก็เป็นข้อมูลเดียวกันที่ใช้ใน financial accounting and sales
customer master สามารถถูกกำหนดให้กับ organizational units : company code , sales organization,distribution channel หรือ devision
เราทำอะไรกับ Customer Master
เมื่อเราสร้าง customer master เป็นการใช้ข้อมูล (share) ในระดับ client และมีข้อมูลที่เรียกว่า company code-specific สำหรับแต่ละ company code
การกำหนดให้ข้อมูล อยู่ระดับ Client นั่นหมายความว่า ลูกค้าจะสามารถถูกมองเห็็นจาก AR ของทุกๆ company code
สำหรับการ implement SAP sales and Distribution เราต้องเพิ่มเติมฟิลด์ที่จำเป็นสำหรับงาน sales
สรุป ก็คือ Customer Master ใช้ในระบบ Accounting และ Sales
